Abrasive treatment where the workpiece is first placed in its working position, and a grinding wheel is then applied radially against the workpiece. Typically used to create a complex surface.
The process
A cylindrical workpiece, usually of non-axial symmetry, is held for processing by a grinding wheel which is fed in towards workpiece. The workpiece is rotated in the opposite direction to the grinding wheel rotation.
